By Plane
Los Angeles, an international travel hub, is served by mostly every
major commercial airline. By Bus
Traveling by bus is an economical option. The best bus service is
that of the Greyhound Tel. 800/231-2222. these take you almost to
all the places in U.S.
The main station for arriving buses is:

East of Alameda. By Car
Los Angeles is well connected to the rest of the United States. Some
of the major highways that connect with the city include Interstate
5, which enters the state from the north; Interstate 10, which originates
in Jacksonville, Florida, and terminates in Los Angeles; and U.S.
101, a scenic route that follows the western seaboard from Los Angeles

It is the most reliable and cost effective form of transportation
and carries a reputation of providing quality service at affordable
prices. One of the largest airport shuttle company in California and
provides service to and from LA international airport and all other
major south California airports. It shuttles between all main airports
and locations in LA / Orange County, San Diego and Salt Lake City
areas. They also provide door-to-door services. The Xpress fleet of
Vans, Buses, and Town Cars easily meet the transportation needs of
LA. Xpress Shuttle has a 24-hour reservation and customer service
center. MTA (Metropolitan Transportation Authority)
Established in 1993 this corporation administers, constructs and operates
the metro and integrated transportation system for LA County. It basically
comprises of
Metro-rail, Metro-bus, Pool-system, Dial-a-ride, Call-box, Bikeways,
TDM
Metro Rail –There are 400 miles of light rail, heavy rail and commuter
rail lines in L.A. County.
Metro Bus - The IMTA (formerly RTD) bus system, plus over one dozen
municipal bus companies.
HOV Lanes - Carpools, vanpools and express buses.
Metro Access is a Dial-a-ride service for the elderly and disabled.
Metro FSP - Freeway Service Patrol, a system of contracted tow trucks
for servicing disabled vehicles on the freeways.
Call Boxes - A countywide system of cellular call boxes for emergency
use in the freeway and highway system.
Bikeways - A system of bikeways for commuter and recreational purposes
in L.A. County.
Smart Streets - Synchronized signals, ramp metering and communication
in order to keep traffic flowing
TDM - Transportation Demand Management, includes rideshare, flexible
work hours telecommunicating & transit voucher programs.
By Bus
Traveling in the buses is economical only fro short distances. However
avoid traveling in them at night.
The basic bus fare is around $1.35 for all local lines, with transfers
costing 25¢. Express buses, traveling along the freeways, and buses
on intercounty routes charge higher fares.
The Downtown Area Short Hop (DASH) runs buses throughout Downtown
and the Westside of L.A. the frequency of the buses is between 5 to
20 minutes, depending on the time of day. The bus fare amounts upto
25¢. Rail
The Metro Blue Line, an above-ground rail line, connects downtown
Los Angeles with Long Beach. Trains operate daily from 6am to 9pm;
the fare is $1.35.
The Metro Red Line- the line begins at Union Station, the city's main
train depot, and travels west underneath Wilshire Boulevard, it also
travels north into Hollywood and the San Fernando Valley. The fare
is $1.35; discount tokens are available at Metro service centers and
many area convenience stores.
The Metro Green Line- runs along the center of the new I-105, the
Glenn Anderson (Century) Freeway, and connects Norwalk in eastern
Los Angeles County to LAX. A connection with the Blue Line offers
visitors access from LAX to downtown L.A. or Long Beach. The fare
is $1.35.
