Independent film festivals

This festival creates a platform for the independent filmmakers who direct socially daring and artistic films. Usually this festivals is attended by the stars, industry executives, writers and directors as well as the film buffs looking forward to seeing some well made films. Screening timings and prices vary by the year so call ahead for details.

Hollywood Black Film Festival

This prominent film festivals showcases feature films, documentaries etc made by the prominent as well as amateur African-American filmmakers. Besides the screenings there are also features, seminars and panel discussions on the African-American related issues. This week long festival is usually in the third week of February but call ahead to confirm. The prices vary; recent prices were $295 for an all-inclusive pass or $95 for a screening pass. Film submission fees are generally $25-$35. Advance registration is required for attendance and submissions.
